You are invited to participate in the Buffalo Creek Clean Water Partnership!
Our Vision is that Buffalo Creek will be a sustainable watershed success story with reduced erosion, improved water quality, thriving wildlife, decreased flooding and the beauty of native vegetation. This will be accomplished through collaborative and inclusive community and agency partnerships.
Our partners include the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, Lake County Department of Health, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, all of the municipalities in the watershed, residents and other interested parties.
At our most recent stakeholder meeting, we saw the location of 552 proposed project sites, broken down by type for each Village, previewed our Education and Outreach Strategy and reviewed the 2014 Water Quality Report. Presentations and meeting minutes can be accessed in the "meetings" tab. Also, click on the red labels in the Virtual Buffalo Creek tab to see videos on other issues which affect Buffalo Creek.
Our next meeting will be on March 19, 2015, at 7 pm at the Lake Zurich Police Department, 200 Mohawk Trail in Lake Zurich. We will discuss other Watershed Action Plan elements and seek stakeholder commitments for the Community Outreach and Education Plan. Please join us!
