You are invited to participate in the Buffalo Creek Clean Water Partnership!
Our Vision is that Buffalo Creek will be a sustainable watershed success story with reduced erosion, improved water quality, thriving wildlife, decreased flooding and the beauty of native vegetation. This will be accomplished through collaborative and inclusive community and agency partnerships.
Our partners include the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, Lake County Department of Health, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, all of the municipalities and townships in the watershed, and many others. We have held nine successful stakeholder meetings.
At our most recent stakeholder meeting, we finalized the criteria for selecting and prioritizing sites for potential green infrastructure projects and learned about chloride pollution from road salt and how it can be reduced. Presentations and meeting minutes can be accessed in the "meetings" tab. Also, click on the red labels in the Virtual Buffalo Creek tab to see videos on other issues which affect Buffalo Creek.
Our next meeting will be on February 24, 2015, at 7 pm at the Village Hall in Buffalo Grove, 50 Raupp Boulevard. We will discuss our Green Infrastructure Plan and present a draft of our Community Outreach and Education Plan. Please join us!
