Buffalo Creek Clean Water Partnership

You are invited to participate in the Buffalo Creek Clean Water Partnership!

Our Vision is that Buffalo Creek will be a sustainable watershed success story with reduced erosion, improved water quality, thriving wildlife, decreased flooding and the beauty of native vegetation. This will be accomplished through collaborative and inclusive community and agency partnerships.

Our partners include the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, Lake County Department of Health, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, all of the municipalities in the watershed, residents and other interested parties.

At our most recent stakeholder meeting, we discussed how we will evaluate the action plan for Buffalo Creek, learned about Lake County's sustainability initiatives and heard about a successful campaign to reduce pollution from fertilizer applications. Presentations and meeting minutes can be accessed in the "meetings" tab. Also, click on the red labels in the Virtual Buffalo Creek tab to see videos about the issues that affect Buffalo Creek.

Our next meeting will be on August 5, 2015, at 9 am at Lake County Stormwater Management, 500 West Winchester Road, Suite 201, Libertyville, IL 60048. We will conduct a review of our draft Watershed-based Plan.
