You are invited to join the Buffalo Creek Clean Water Partnership! Our Vision is that Buffalo Creek will be a sustainable watershed success story with reduced erosion, improved water quality, thriving wildlife, decreased flooding and the beauty of native vegetation. This will be accomplished through collaborative and inclusive community and agency partnerships.

Our partners include the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, all of the municipalities in the watershed, residents and other interested parties. We sponsor family friendly volunteer events throughout the year.

Our watershed plan for Buffalo Creek is complete and has been approved by the Illinois EPA, srormwater agencies, several villages and other agencies. To see it, click on the link.

At our last meeting, we discussed how much road salt is being applied in winter and how to reduce chloride pollution. A survey on road salt operation has been released via . Our next meeting will be in February, 2017.
