You are invited to participate in the Buffalo Creek Clean Water Partnership!

Our Vision is that Buffalo Creek will be a sustainable watershed success story with reduced erosion, improved water quality, thriving wildlife, decreased flooding and the beauty of native vegetation. This will be accomplished through collaborative and inclusive community and agency partnerships

Our partners include the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, Lake County Department of Health, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, the eight Villages in the watershed, and many others. We have held six successful stakeholder meetings.

In our most recent stakeholder meeting, we presented the results of our 2013 Pollutant Monitoring Program and finalized watershed goals and objectives for our watershed-based plan. Our next meeting will be on Thursday May 29, 2014

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, at Wheeling Public Works, 77 W. Hintz Road in Wheeling, IL. We will discuss green infrastructure and the application of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Buffalo Creek.
